A Farmhouse Buffet

One of my clients recently asked me to do a few custom pieces for his and his girlfriends new home. I of course was honored and ready for the challenge. I gathered their ideas and begun putting together a piece that was just right for them.

I am obsessed with Farmhouse tables and thought how fun to do one from scratch in a smaller scale for an entry way buffet/console table. So I got to work building from scratch. I usually like to repurpose wood for the {aged} look, but this time I bought fresh lumber and built the top. Once it was built, I took a grinder to it and began to {age} the wood. I than did what my father in law calls the unthinkable and I mixed paint and stain together to give me just the right color. Once I put the first coat on my brother in law torched the wood for me to give darker burn spots. I than went back over it and let the stain fill in all the grooves.

I couldn't let this table be all new, I had to repurpose something on it so I pulled legs from another salvage table and attached to this piece. It officially got my recycle flavor added to this piece:) Makes my heart happy.

I should have taken pictures along the way better but I get in a groove on a piece and can't stop.
So here is the final product.

This will be something I make many variations of. I already had visions of a garden potting table that is this style:)

Till next time

So It's Begun

Well, I finally took the leap and am turning my passion for design into a business. I have to admit it's a little scary but most of all AMAZING!!!! I have such a huge love for taking something that has been cast off and turn it into something with a whole new purpose and whole lot of CHIC!!!

I'm committed to blogging my adventures and revealing my collection along the way. Join me and share your passion for design too. I am sure you didn't just land on my page by luck. Your probably just like me addicted to Pintrest and can't stop clicking to Blog after Blog.

Lets Do This!
